Our projects.



Strategy of Free and Open Source Implementations as an innovative model of drawing students' interest to information technology and technical fields of studies and support them in shaping core competencies. Main goal of the project is to boost students' (primary, junior and high school) interest in information technology and technical studies, crucial for an economy based on knowledge. Project scope anticipates working on innovating model of students' elicitation, based on Strategy of Free and Open Source Implementations, tested and prepared to consolidate educational policy in Poland and promote new technologies, tools, ideas, information technology and mechatronics solutions. Its aim is to formulate legal standards of methods and tools of early forming of information technology awareness in institutional education, backed by active forms of lifelong learning and building  generally available platform of spiral transfer of knowledge and skills in technical area as a bridge of inter-generation cooperation and coeval education online. Projects' actions aim at developing competence of teamwork - developing the project, creating and describing effective implementations in the area of programming, electronics and mechatronics, developing habit of systematic documenting personal growth and accomplishments in a form of e-portfolio, which in future may serve well as a proof of  having personal skills important for economy. Cooperation platform Spinacz /Clip - Internet polish database of open source innovation research projects. Project's aim is to develop a good practice of creating and supporting a stable system for transferring and commercialization of knowledge. Main goal of the project is to publicize among entrepreneurs information about innovative projects in the area of free and open source software, developed in an academic environment and intensification of cooperation between academies and business. Vital element of the project is commercialization of research and development  output in the area of free and open software. Objectives will be achieved by supporting resourcefulness and open innovation by building a virtual platform of information exchange, which will produce conditions for efficient commercialization of research and development results. Moreover The Foundation will work out tools, which allow tailoring of R&D  to present needs of economy and constitute standards of communication between research area and enterprise. Project is mainly targeted on entrepreneurs, university, research and development units, researchers and business environment having their legal address in Poland. Legitimate IT Public Tenders  (PPPIT)
Polish project "Legitimate and transparent legal tenders on IT tools". Project consists of actions:

  • of educational character - a series of training courses for public institutions workers, who are responsible for setting up tenders in IT area;
  • of research character - polish research on software used in public administration, run in cooperation with Pentor institute;
  • of informational character - publications regarding law and technical aspects of public tenders on IT tools.


The project includes a website  www.pppit.org.pl - it is an aggregate that enables gathering and makes available knowledge about legitimate IT public tenders, consisting of legal base (regulations, issues of licensing etc.) and technological aspects, with emphasis on implementing open standards and free and open source software. We are certain that the project will concur to systematic enhancement of public institutions, thereby boosting development of information era society.

 

Free and Open Source Software at School
The goal of the project is counteraction against digital divide (regardless of place of residence or sex) and equalization of education chances of students done by activation of students, teachers and schools to project fulfillment, which should benefit to even up chances of less gifted students and those, who are threatened by digital divide from the rural areas in their start to professional life and future learning process. Project consists of actions conducted in schools: primary, junior and high school interested in meetings, encouraging students to using free and open source software (Linux, OpenOffice, Firefox, Thunderbird and other).
